Where does the time go???? It seems like only yesterday it was the end of the Market Season and now it's here again! Don't get me wrong, I love to be at the Market with all my friends and customers but I really do love my time OFF from the market. It is the time when I think of new projects and designs, ENJOY my weekends, and can be with my family.
On the other hand, God Bless my husband Joe (the Beekeeper). He was ready to start the Market the second week in January. Joe and I have stalls next to each other at the market which is very convenient. He sells his honey, beeswax, soaps and hive products and I sell my art. The only difference is that he is a Salesman and I am not. I think most Artists are not good sales people. Most like me would rather be creating in the studio than selling in the public. It is hard to sell one's art. It is like selling part of yourself, it is a personal thing. It has taken years to get comfortable with displaying and selling my art. I am comfortable now....that is after selling at the market for 15 years! 2014 marks my 16th!
I want to thank my husband Joe from the bottom of my heart. Even though he makes me crazy, I would not be successful without his help on market days. For he is the one who packs the car (his products and my art). Drives to the market EARLY in the morning to set up for the 7AM opening time. I COULD NOT, WOULD NOT DO IT WITHOUT HIM! So, if you see him today at the market, tell him his Artist wife REALLY APPRECIATES his hard work and commitment to both our businesses!!
